Committee on Parasitic Diseases and Parasiticides

The purpose of the Committee on Parasitic Diseases and Parasiticides is to encourage investigation of, and research on, the epidemiology of new and ongoing parasitic diseases that threaten the health of the animal industry of the United States, including foreign parasitic diseases; to encourage the development of new parasiticides to control parasitic diseases; to promote the cooperation of the agencies of the United States government, including USDA, EPA, and FDA, as well as academic institutions and private industry (through the Animal Health Institute); to develop safe and cost effective preventive measures and/or treatments to control identified parasitic diseases; and to encourage regulatory agencies to restrict entry into the United States of potentially health threatening, parasitic diseases.
